Banana Ice Cream

Sometimes people find it hard to switch to a plant-based diet because they miss some of the treats they loved. But fear not, friends, because now you have a recipe for banana ice cream!!!

It’s a treat so delicious you won’t believe it’s made from bananas and it’s so healthy and nutritious you can eat it every day!

Banana Ice Cream Recipe

Be sure to keep your freezer stocked with frozen bananas (Spud.ca and Nature’s Way Farm Market in Vancouver are a good source for bulk, ripe, organic bananas).

Peel the bananas before freezingΒ and if you don’t have a high speed blender then chop the bananas into 1 inch slices. If you have a high speed blender you can just cut them in half before freezing.

Ingredients:

  • 2 frozen bananas
  • 1/3 – 1/2 cup plant milk (soy, almond, cashew etc)
  • handful of walnuts (or other soft nut) or a teaspoon of nut butter
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp mesquite powder
  • 1/2 vanilla powder or essence

The last three ingredients on the list are optional and it’s delicious without them too, but I like that extra creaminess and flavour.

Add all the ingredients to a high speed blender or food processor and blend until smooth. Serve and enjoy!
