Happy Herd Farm Sanctuary Volunteer Visit

We had a wonderful time at The Happy Herd Farm Sanctuary for our volunteer day in August. It looks from the photos like all we did was hang out with gorgeous animals all day, but we did actually do some work too! The cows now have a nice, new paint job on the fence to last through the winter.

The Happy Herd Farm Sanctuary is just outside of Vancouver and about 2.5 hours’ drive from Whistler. Stephen and Diane, the owners, have rescued dogs, cats, goats, cows, pigs, a donkey, turkeys and many chickens and ducks. Most of these beautiful animals were destined for people’s plates and stomachs, but now they are surrounded by love and affection.

This small farm sanctuary is a peaceful haven for these animals to live out the rest of their lives being loved and cared for. Visiting The Happy Herd Farm Sanctuary is a fantastic experience and really makes you think about how these animals are no different to the dogs and cats we share our own homes with.

Thank you again to Stephen and Diane and all the animals for a great day, and for all the incredible work that you do saving lives and spreading compassion!
